As Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Sa’ar’s international legitimisation of policies of forced displacement of the Palestinian people, his diplomatic defence of decisions to blockade and attack leading to the physical destruction of the community, his cover-up of atrocities against identifiable groups, and his attempts to justify the destruction of civilian property on international platforms constitute violations of the obligations to protect civilians during armed conflict and to observe fundamental human rights.
